YOSH Magnetic Vent Mount car phone holder review

Overview

The YOSH Magnetic Vent Mount is a small, straightforward holder for drivers who want to position a phone near the dashboard without a bulky cradle. It clips to an air vent, while an included metal plate lets the magnet hold your phone or case. It ranks #7 in our list of the top 10 best-selling car phone holders on Amazon UK, with an 8.5/10 score and our Best simple budget magnetic mount award. Compared with the #2 Miracase Double-Hook Vent Mount, YOSH trades a more involved cradle-style hold for a compact magnetic design. Unlike the #3 UGREEN MagSafe Vent Mount, it is not MagSafe-compatible and needs a plate.

Features and specification

The package includes the mount, two metal plates, two transparent films and an instruction card. The listing says installation takes a moment: clip the holder onto a vent blade, then bring the phone close to attach it. That magnetic, one-handed operation makes it easy to put a phone on or take it off when parked. The compact body is relatively unobtrusive when not in use, and the listing describes rubber protection for the vent and an angle adjustment.

There are important compatibility trade-offs. The mount does not provide wireless charging, and its metal plate can interfere with charging if left attached. YOSH advises placing the plate outside the case and removing it for wireless charging. The instructions also caution against sticking it to liquid silicone cases, holsters or glass, and recommend waiting 24 hours after applying it. Check your vent blades before buying: a clip mount will not suit every vent design. An 18-month warranty is listed.

What owners say

Owners commonly praise the strong magnetic hold, simple phone attachment and neat, unobtrusive size. Several report that their phones stay in place on the vent while driving, and some appreciate the soft covering where the mount contacts the vent. Its simple setup and low-fuss daily use are recurring positives.

There are less reassuring reports too. Some owners say the vent attachment has come loose or failed to stay secure, while another describes the plate adhesive giving way after prolonged use in hot weather. Feedback also suggests adjustment is limited: although the listing mentions angle adjustment, this may not offer enough movement for every dashboard or preferred viewing position. Results will depend on the vent shape, phone and how securely the plate is fitted.

Who should buy it

Consider the YOSH if you want a small, affordable magnetic holder, your car has compatible vent blades, and you are comfortable attaching a metal plate to your phone or case. It suits drivers who value quick, one-handed mounting more than built-in charging or extensive positioning options. Follow the plate instructions and allow the adhesive time to set before relying on it.

Skip it if you use wireless charging and do not want to remove the plate, prefer not to attach anything to your phone, or have vent blades that cannot grip a clip securely. If you need MagSafe compatibility, the UGREEN MagSafe Vent Mount in our list is a more relevant alternative; if a cradle-style grip matters more, consider the Miracase Double-Hook Vent Mount instead.
